Welcome to the Hack K-State, the student-led hackathon hosted at the College of Business Building on the campus of Kansas State University. We are excited to have high school and college students from around the area participate in our event from November 8 to 10.

Eligibility

High school and college (undergraduate and graduate) students are eligible to participate. Participants may work individually or in teams of up to four.

Requirements

Each project should have one Devpost submission with all team members' names included in it. Any code written for the project should be included in the Devpost submission. Each team will also need to present their project to judges on Sunday morning to be eligible for prizes.

Judging Criteria

  • Technology
    How technically impressive was the hack? Was the technical problem the team tackled difficult? Did it use a particularly clever technique or did it use many different components?
  • Design
    Did the team put thought into the user experience? How well designed is the interface?
  • Completion
    Does the hack work? Did the team achieve everything they wanted?
  • Learning
    Did the team stretch themselves? Did they try to learn something new? What kind of projects have they worked on before?
  • Creativity
    Is the idea something that is cool and unique, or just a remake of something you have previously seen? Is this a new idea?
